More about the photographers…

Jim’s Background

I’ve loved taking pictures since my early childhood and throughout all of my life. I graduated from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2017 with a degree in geology/GIS. I worked for several years as a geological consultant in the oil and gas industry. During this time I was afforded the opportunity to expand and refine my passion of photography when I was not consulting. I love capturing both individual & family portraits and making people look beautiful. I also have a passion for capturing memorable moments such as parties and events with candid true-life photography. My landscape and art photography is inspired by some great friends/mentors and my desire to preserve beautiful and epic images that captivate the eye and mind. I have photographed many different subjects, scenes, and moments and it is my pleasure to share my images and services with you.

April’s Background

To be completely honest, I never would have seen myself investing in a “photography” business. As Jim refined his skills, I found myself becoming more interested in his techniques and wanted to be a part of his venture. I grew up on the coast in Corpus Christi and secretly loved being a student. I obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, continuing on to earn a Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration. My way of connecting with a couple is understanding how they want to remember their special day -- Some would say I’m an expert listener ;)

I take pride in capturing the sweet moments of an event and I want to find those brief instances of bliss that may be missed.

Photography as an Art

Photography as an art is based on many of the same principles as painting. Like a painter, a photographer must focus on the elements of light, color, contrast, shadows, composition, and abstract expression. These elements are strategically used by a photographer or painter to invoke a sense of captivation, intrigue, and emotion in critique. We are constantly surrounded both by natural beauty and wondrous views that we often do not notice. We use the camera to capture them and then print images with a focus on the natural magic we find in daily life.
